Last week I celebrated two milestones: helping a client get into Forbes for the second time, and secondly, actually writing a blog post about it (my second in the past 12 months-I need to get back to blogging!)
This was an opportunity I’d put the client up for last year, but I never heard anything back until someone spotted her in Forbes, which just shows a)how long PR opportunities can take to pull off and b)you don’t always know you’re featured!
I always get asked about Forbes, so I’ve broken the steps down into a handy blog post!
I also published a podcast episode this week (I’m on a visibility roll it seems!) going behind the scenes of my latest launch and the lessons I learned from it.
DO IT: Take 30 seconds to get your story down to one clear sentence as if it’s a headline in a magazine, and newspaper. This is your headline-and you can always use it as your subject header. How can you get it spot on? If it’s an expert story, focus on the problem you are solving - the specific easy thing you are helping the reader with. If it’s a personal story, focus on the transformation - what is the A to B? Focus on something that creates connection, curiosity, and an emotional response.
PITCH IT: Jam Press (Agency) is looking for strong health stories- email emma.guinness1@jampress.co.uk
PR Successes from my facebook group:
Well done to Natalie Bell who was invited by BBC Radio York to talk about what her business Evergreen Exploring are doing for Children’s Mental Health Week and to Helen Rogers who had a quote featured in the Daily Telegraph!
Just a reminder …
My PR implementation membership The Momentum Media Club is currently open for new members until tomorrow. If you’d like access to a hub of daily press opportunities, PR templates and bite-sized trainings then click here to find out how to join.
And, finally, I created the idea for my membership during Race to Recurring Revenue two years ago, after using it the year before to plan my first-ever course. If you’ve not heard of Race to Recurring Revenue, it’s a free challenge to help you create your own course, membership or online revenue, to bring in more passive income to your business, and it’s back for 2025. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever done for my business, and if you’d like to join in with the free challenge when it kicks off in a few weeks-join here.
